This APR* Month’s special will feature insights into a successful social media and customer experience strategy that follows the R-PIE recipe – Research, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation.
Karli Massey, APR and NMPRSA President will partner with Carlos Garcia, Range Café’s social media director, to walk through how this approach can be baked into any communications channel. One secret ingredient of the restaurant’s success is showcasing its diverse staff online, which transfers into happy customers in the dining room.
Join us at the Range Café’s Central Avenue location for this interactive session. Appetizers and pie will be provided.

Speakers
Carlos J.R. Garcia is an Albuquerque, NM native. He attended the University of New Mexico where he studied art and music. Carlos has spent the majority of his time honing his skill set by working with several musical acts within the Southwest. In more recent years, he expanded to a significant amount of work being done in the service industry for breweries, coffee shops and restaurants. Carlos’s social media work began more directly while living in Austin, TX where he worked for several breweries. During that time he developed processes to engage guests across different social media platforms by creating unique and fun content. During the pandemic, Carlos moved back to Albuquerque and started working for Range Cafe. Having had experience with management and social media, he was hired on as the Social Media Director and Online Guest Relations Manager.
At Range Cafe, Carlos is responsible for creating content, managing social media profiles and creating social media ad-campaigns. He is also responsible for investigating and mediating online guest feedback across multiple platforms (i.e. google reviews, yelp, etc).
Carlos continues to work for Range Cafe and is constantly seeking out new ways to expand and bring awareness to the brand across social media platforms.
Karli Massey, APR loves PRSA and her accreditation in public relations almost as much as she loves pie. As the 2023 NMPRSA President, she gets to advocate for membership in this stellar professional organization and relentlessly promote the value of APR.
Whether it is reading precise directions for the perfect pie crust or writing detailed guidance for creating a measurable communication plan, Karli enjoys a good recipe for success. And, when she's not communicating or cooking, she's golfing or looking at menus and photos from her favorite restaurant.
